In partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sport Affairs, UNDP Bahrain and the YLP Bahrain Community is thrilled to announce the seventh edition of the Youth Leadership Programme for the year 2021 (YLP7).
The Youth Leadership Programme (YLP), a regional programme by UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Arab States, was launched in 2015 to build a region-wide dynamic network working at the intersection of youth, innovation, and sustainable development. Starting with a regional forum in Amman, gathering 40 young participants from 18 Arab countries, YLP has evolved every year, engaging over 20,000 youth participants and supporting 7,000+ projects.
The Report on the investment case for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) was developed jointly by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Interagency Task Force (UNIATF), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Gulf Health Council (GHC), and the Ministry of Health in Bahrain.
After the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and under the lead of the UN Resident Coordinator and the United Nations Development Programme in Bahrain, the United Nations in Bahrain finalized the “UN COVID-19 socio-economic response and recovery framework for Bahrain”. Soon after the Government sought UNDP’s support to lead a COVID-19 Socio-Economic Impact Assessment (SEIA).
In partnership with the University of Bahrain (UOB) and in collaboration with other UN agencies, UNDP Bahrain organized a webinar series under the main theme of the SDGs and COVID-19.
As part of the ongoing cooperation between UNDP and the Bahrain Institute for Public Administration (BIPA), a joint project on public sector innovation was launched in early 2019.
In the momentous first step in assessing the socio-economic impact of the COVID-19 in Bahrain, UNDP Bahrain and the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) have published their joint report.
