Social Good summit 2015 "Bahraini Youth NGOs - Towards a Pro-Sustainable Development Community"

The Social Good Summit will take place in New York on 27 September 2015 alongside the historic session of the General Assembly of the United Nations which will launch the new global development agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals-SDGs (2015 -2030).
The Social Good Summit 2015 will also involve meet-ups in around 100 countries around the world, to give people across the globe an opportunity to share the opinions and thoughts about the sustainable development goals, and what it takes to realize them in their country, at regional and at global levels.
The Kingdom of Bahrain will participate in the Social Good Summit movement for 2015 with an event that particularly focuses on youth, who represent a principal stakeholder in the global quest for sustainable development. The event will look at the whole process of making the new SDGs a reality for all Bahrainis, from adoption at the general assembly this September, through the phases of planning, implementation and monitoring over the next 15 years and up to evaluation of their impact on the lives of Bahrainis by 2030.
The Ministry of Social Development, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme will bring together representatives of all youth associations registered at the Ministry of Social Development to learn more about the new global agenda and to discuss and share their view on and the SDGs, especially as they pertain to Bahrain.
This gathering will be held on Sunday, 27 September 2015 from 16:00 until 20:00 in the evening at the headquarters of the Manama Social Center in Juffair area.
Representatives of the local and national media will also be invited to help spread the word about the new global development agenda, mobilize Bahraini youth’s interest in the Sustainable Development Goals 2015-2030 and spread a pro-sustainable development culture among all Bahrainis.
The Ministry of Information Affairs, through the official Radio and Television of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in Arabic and English, will be participating in the “Radio Everyone” initiative aiming to raise public awareness about the sustainable development goals across the world. Radio and Television of the Kingdom of Bahrain will be providing special coverage of this Social Good Summit youth event.
