UN in Bahrain Hosts Post-2015 Sustainable Development Agenda WorkshopOct 23, 2014
On 23 October 2014, the UN in Bahrain hosted a half day workshop to stimulate a dialogue on the Post-2015 Development Agenda among key Government and civil society institutions that are engaged in national development planning and implementation. The workshop provided a forum for open and substantive exchange of views on what aspects of the global debate on the post-2015 development agenda is relevant to Bahrain and how to integrate the future goals into national development processes.
85 development actors from a diverse range of Government and civil society institutions participated in the workshop. It is expected that the workshop is the first of many important inclusive discussions between Government, civil society, academia and UN agencies so that development actors can work in partnership to prepare for the implementation of the Post-2015 sustainable development goals that are relevant for Bahrain. The workshop was a collaborative effort of the eight United Nations agencies that form the UN Country Team in Bahrain.
