The past ten years have underscored several important improvements in the quality of life in Kingdom of Bahrain. In the last decade, the human development Index (HDI) value in Bahrain increased from 0.820 in 2000 to 0.895 in 2009. According to HDI report of 2009, Bahrain ranks 39 globally. Unlike its GCC counterpart, Bahrain has been able to translate economic growth into improvement of quality of life to its citizen.
